4-Hour Workshop

Greek Crash Course

Read your first scripture in the first 20 minutes. By the end of the day, you'll be reading full sentences from the New Testament.

No prior experience required. For the time and effort of a daily Wordle puzzle, you can continue learning on your own.

Scripture From the Start

Here's a taste of what you'll read during the course

FIRST 20 MINUTES

Κύριος Ἰησοῦς

"Lord Jesus"

MID-COURSE

ἐδάκρυσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς.

"Jesus wept."

END OF COURSE

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐσιώπα.

"But Jesus was silent."

You won't just memorise these phrases — you'll understand why they mean what they mean.

Think You Can't Learn Greek?

"But I'm bad at languages!"

You're probably bad at flashcards and memorising grammar tables — most people are. But you became fluent in English just by hearing a bit more than you could understand. Guided Immersion works the same way: you learn by reading real texts at just the right difficulty level, not by grinding through drills.

"I don't have time to study!"

Each selection takes about a minute — roughly the time and effort of a Wordle puzzle. The more you do, the faster you'll progress, but there's no need to block out big chunks of time. Study on the train, waiting in a queue, or during a coffee break.

"Aren't the letters weird?"

There is a different alphabet, but many characters are basically the same (α, κ, ο), and you've probably seen others already (π, σ, μ). Greek is a phonetic language with pronunciation rules much easier than English. The app has a mouse-over pronunciation guide. You'll pick it up faster than you think.

"I got bored with Duolingo / gave up on courses"

Duolingo and textbooks use artificial sentences designed to teach grammar points. With Guided Immersion, you're reading the actual Bible from day one. The content is inherently meaningful, and the algorithm keeps it at just the right difficulty — challenging enough to learn, easy enough to understand.

What to Expect

The course is an on-ramp, not a destination. After 4 hours you won't be fluent — but you'll have the foundation and tools for continued daily learning.

Light refreshments will be available, but please bring your own lunch. There are also cafés and shops nearby.
